Galapagos Archipelago lies almost a thousand kilometers from the coast of Ecuador's mainland. The island is a group of thirteen islands, six smaller islands tiny islets and a rock covering an area of 8000 square kilometers. The island is biologically diverse and is one of the planet's natural paradise and most visited parks of the world. The flora and fauna of Galapagos is truly unique. Here you will find myriads of beaches with white sand such as those of Tortuga Bay, tunnels of lava, spectacular diving areas and a marine reserve. The island also has a collection of prehistoric birds and animals. There are quite a good number of rare colorful birds and the climate is sub-tropical. This island inspired British naturalist Charles Darwin to propound his theory of evolution.

The island is an oasis for animals and plants that exist nowhere else in the world. The rich Galapagos island's marine life is fascinating and is a world of wonderful on the island with colorful fishes in schools, manta rays, sea turtles, hammer head sharks, whale sharks and magnificent reefs.
Tourism, overpopulation and non-native species are threatening the ecosystem of the islands. The situation has worsened in the past 15 years because of the introduction of insects that are harmful to plants and other species resulting in the disruption of the natural balance, according to the Charles Darwin Foundation research group.
