Nazca Lines

An ancient archaeological site of high importance the Nazca Lines comprise of a series of geoglyphs or literally permanent encryptions on stones caves etc that divulge a lot about the prevalent life and customs of the people. Situated in the arid Nazca Desert it spans between the towns of Nazca and Palpa in Peru . Created by anon this is one of the most ancient relics of the world beguiling one and many. Research has however proved the age of the Nazca Lines to be more than 2 million years throwing light on the ancient Nazca culture.

Owing to its peculiarity and historic importance the Nazca Lines is one of the prime ecological sites in South America where conservation is the credo. The Chauchilla cemetery in Nazca Lines is yet another impelling attraction with mummified remains of members of the Nasca culture.This is an ancient site tracing its origin back in 200 -500 B.C.

The unique repository of Casa-Museo Mari Reiche in Nazca Lines is a great collection of ethnic textiles, ceramics, mummies and artwork belonging to the ancient Nazca culture. The museum has been christened after the woman who made the mysterious Nazca Lines of Peru so popular through her studies.

The Didactic Museum Antonini in Nazca Lines is yet another History museum with some fascinating insight into the lifestyle, religion, politics and economy of the Nazca people. The prime things to watch out here are the ancient aqueduct, replicas of tombs and artifacts from major archaeological sites.
